Michael Conforto Not Expected To Play This Weekend
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) said he has a fascia strain in his left hamstring. It's being called mild, but he doesn't sound as if he thinks he will play in the weekend series on the road against the New York Mets. If Conforto isn't ready to play in the start of a new series against the Seattle Mariners at home on Monday, there's a good chance he'll need to go on the injured list for 10 days. The 30-year-old missed his second straight game on Friday and won't return until at least Monday. He'll finish up the month of June hitting a weak .203 (14-for-69) with a home run, 14 RBI and 20 strikeouts in 22 games. Overall, he's hitting just .236 (56-for-237) but with 12 home runs and 42 RBI in his first year in San Fran.
