Michael Conforto Likely To Be Activated Friday
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler said he had outfielder Michael Conforto (hamstring) in the starting lineup on Thursday as the designated hitter against the Colorado Rockies before the game was rained out, so it appears likely that Conforto will be activated from the injured list and play on Friday against the Rockies at Coors Field. Conforto will be returning after missing three weeks with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger has played in 111 games in his first year in the Bay Area with the Gigantes in 2023, slashing .251/.343/.405 with 15 home runs, 12 doubles, 55 RBI, four stolen bases and 55 runs scored in 426 plate appearances. The Giants are hoping that his return will help the team secure the final wild-card spot in the National League down the stretch.
