Michael Conforto Dealing With Side Injury
8 months agoSan Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin said that outfielder Michael Conforto (side) has a very slight side issue, which is why he's not in the starting lineup on Monday versus the visiting Washington Nationals. However, it's likely that Conforto will return to action for the second game of the series on Tuesday and he thinks he'll be available off the bench on Monday. With the Giants being cautious with Conforto to begin the week, the left-handed-hitting Mike Yastrzemski will start in right field and bat sixth for the Gigantes on Monday against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Yaz will be looking for his first career hit against Williams after facing him only three previous times. Conforto has been red-hot in the early going -- 13-for-37 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the first 10 games -- so his fantasy managers will surely be hoping he's back in there on Tuesday.
