Michael Bunting Stays Hot In Front Of The Net
2 years agoToronto Maple Leafs left wing Michael Bunting produced his second consecutive multi-goal performance and added an assist in Tuesday's high-scoring 6-5 shootout loss to St. Louis. He had an even-strength tally in the second period and scored on the power play in the third to push the game past regulation. Bunting's assist came on a goal from William Nylander. The 27-year-old has been on a big goal-scoring run lately, lightning the lamp nine times in his past 10 appearances. The hot streak has lifted him to 13 goals for the season, and Bunting has also delivered 16 assists in 29 games. He's become Auston Matthew's trusted left-hand man and should have a spot on most fantasy teams. Matthews had two points Tuesday and became the fastest player in franchise history to log 500 NHL points, needing only 445 outings to get there.
