The New York Mets appear more focused on outfielder George Springer and right-hander Trevor Bauer than pursuing catcher J.T. Realmuto in free agency, but those expecting new owner Steve Cohen to land multiple big-ticket free agents this winter are likely to be disappointed. Realmuto would fit a huge need for the Mets, but they also have other expensive desires and won't be operating with an unlimited budget, although some may feel that way with Cohen now the owner. If the Mets don't go after Realmuto, free-agent James McCann could be an option. Austin Romine might be another potential fit. The Mets seem favored to land all three of these top free agents, but the reality is that that's extremely unlikely to happen.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
