Mets Add Eduardo Nunez
5 years agoThe New York Mets signed infielder Eduardo Nunez to a minor league deal on Saturday, according to a source. The 32-year-old will be a non-roster invite to spring training. The 10-year veteran debuted with the Yankees in 2010 and spent the last three seasons with the Red Sox. Nunez has been a key utility player in his career, but he had just a .548 OPS and struggled on defense in 60 games with Boston in 2019. He could easily win a bench spot on the Mets Opening Day roster, but Nunez would purely be a utility player and bench bat, leaving him little appeal in fantasy leagues.
