Mets Acquire Bobby Wahl and William Toffey
Jeurys Familia. Along with the prospects Bobby Wahl and William Toffey, the Mets received international slot money to use for a future signing. Only Toffey is in the Oakland A's top 30 prospects list according to MiLB Pipeline, but for an expiring deal that's not a terrible return. Toffey was a fourth-round pick in last year's draft and is only in High-A ball, but projects as a good fielder with decent hitting tools. So far in the minors, he has shown a great eye for the ball with a 15% walk rate in over 100 games of play. Wahl is not as impressive a prospect. He is an older at 26, but projects as a decent middle reliever which the Mets desperately need. Wahl has pitched in Triple-A since 2016 and came up for a few games last season so he should be in the bigs a lot sooner than Toffey.
