Melvin Gordon III Will Be Usage-Based RB2
4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon should continue to see a heavy workload with Phillip Lindsay (toe) on the shelf. Gordon ran the ball 19 times for 70 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards and a touchdown in the Week 2 loss to the Steelers. The Buccaneers Defense has allowed 26.4 fantasy points per game to running backs in the first two weeks, but those running backs were also Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey, and most of the damage came through the air. Gordon has just six aerial targets through two weeks, but his guaranteed heavy workload should give him RB2 upside despite the less-than-ideal matchup with a backup quarterback under center.
