Melvin Gordon III Totals 53 Yards In Win Over Houston
2 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III saw 10 carries for 47 yards (4.7 yards per tote) and hauled in his only target in the passing game for a six-yard gain in the 16-9 win over the Houston Texans in Week 2. Gordon took a back seat to Javonte Williams on the ground a week after he out-carried him in the Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The 29-year-old definitely operated as the 1B to Williams' 1A in this one, and that should continue to be the case heading into a Week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. If receiver Jerry Jeudy (shoulder) is unable to play next week, both Williams and Gordon could be heavily involved in the passing game out of the backfield. Gordon should continue to have RB3/flex appeal with a limited ceiling as long as Williams is healthy.
