Melvin Gordon III On The Roster Bubble
1 year agoThe Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec believes Baltimore Ravens running back Melvin Gordon III is on the roster bubble with the regular season quickly approaching. Gordon has looked good in training camp and showed some juice in the preseason opener over the weekend, but rookie Keaton Mitchell's speed, elusiveness and return abilities make him an intriguing prospect. J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards will be eligible for free agency after the 2023 season, so it makes more sense for Baltimore to keep a younger back. When the whole RB room is healthy and available, Dobbins and Edwards will be the Ravens' one-two punch in the backfield. Justice Hill might make the team for his special-teams abilities alone, but he can also offer something on offense. Gordon, who will turn 30 this year, had six carries for 16 yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
