Melvin Gordon III Doubtful To Face The Chiefs
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (hip, shoulder) missed practice all week and is considered doubtful to play on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Vic Fangio. The 28-year-old injured his hip early in the Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, but he returned and finished out the game. Gordon has been the 1A to rookie Javonte Williams' 1B in a pretty even backfield split through the first 12 weeks of the season, but the impressive Williams would be in line for his biggest workload if Gordon is officially inactive. Gordon should obviously be removed from starting lineups, while Williams should have a strong RB2 floor as the team's primary back. Expect Mike Boone to have a bigger load as well as Williams' backup.
