Melvin Gordon III Carries Offense With Two Touchdowns
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III was pretty much the entire offense in the team's 17-10 win over the Washington Football Team in Week 8 on Sunday. Gordon had a team-high 10 carries (one more than rookie Javonte Williams) for 47 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and a touchdown, and he also added another touchdown through the air while catching all three of his targets for 15 yards. On the negative side, he lost a fumble late in the game. Gordon and Williams continued to split this backfield in half, with Gordon seeing 13 touches to Williams' 11, but the veteran running back was clearly the more productive option on Sunday, scoring the team's only two touchdowns on the day. In the long term, Williams still has more big-play appeal and upside, but Gordon isn't going away as an RB3/flex in fantasy.
