Melvin Gordon Expected To Test Open Market
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers impending free-agent running back Melvin Gordon is expected to test the free-agent market, according to a source. Gordon has been expected to go elsewhere all along, with restricted free-agent Austin Ekeler being the one to stay with the Bolts. Gordon has played in 12 games in each of the last two seasons, and he ran a career-low 162 times for 612 yards (3.8 yards per carry) for eight touchdowns in 2019. He added 42 receptions for 296 yards and one more score. The two-time Pro Bowler wasn't as effective sharing time with Ekeler, but he has been an effective three-down back in his career. His 2020 fantasy value will mostly be determined by where he ends up and what his role will be.
