Max Scherzer Pulled After One Inning

Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer needed 27 pitches to get through the first inning against the Mets. New York pushed only one run across but made Scherzer labor. The real problem is that the 36-year-old had diminished velocity in the first inning, generally not a good sign. This was his first start in seven days, so perhaps there is some sort of shoulder fatigue involved from not throwing on his regular schedule. He was replaced in the game by pitcher Erick Fedde. Fantasy owners should hope it's nothing too serious and check back for updates.
