Max Scherzer Coasting Through May

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer has been simply dominant over his three starts in May. He's pitched a total of 21.1 innings and allowed nine hits, two walks and two earned runs while striking out 30. His only two runs allowed came on solo home runs. After having a down year by his own lofty standard's in 2020 (3.74 ERA, 1.38 WHIP), Scherzer has been in prime form through the early going of 2021. He has a 2.10 ERA and 0.76 WHIP, both of which are career-lows. He'll look to stay hot in his next trip to the mound on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs.
