1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves don't expect left-hander Max Fried (finger) to make his next start until the team's four-game series against the Washington Nationals this weekend after he developed a hot spot on his finger in his latest start last Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Braves have already clinched the National League East title, so they surely aren't going to rush the talented southpaw so that he's not ready for the postseason. Fantasy managers should consider him much more risky than usual if he starts this weekend, too, as he could be on a pitch count as a precaution. Fried has made only 13 starts in 2023 due to injuries, but he's been good when active, going 7-1 with a 2.64 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 73 strikeouts in 71 2/3 innings pitched.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
