Matthew Stafford Banged Up But Trending Towards Playing
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (thumb, ribs) is trending towards playing in Week 16 against the Buccaneers. The veteran passer was unable to finish the Lions blowout loss last week after injuring his ribs. Stafford also is dealing with torn ligaments in his throwing thumb on top of the Lions organization unable to practice due to a COVID outbreak on the team. The Lions are in disarray heading into a matchup against a Buccaneers team that is allowing the 14th most fantasy points to opposing passers this season. Stafford is a tough quarterback and appears to be ready to gut it out in Week 16. But that doesn't mean fantasy teams need to start him in lineups and endure the pain with him.
