The Green Bay Packers have chosen Texas Longhorn wide receiver Matthew Golden at No. 23 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a wild turn of events, the Pack selected their first first-round wideout since 2002. Golden didn't post gaudy numbers during his collegiate years. Still, he boasts blazing speed set to torment any NFL defense -- famously out-running former Texas teammate Isaiah Bond at the combine with a blistering 4.29 40-yard dash. He'll enter a loaded WR corps in Green Bay, joining incumbent starters Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and solid rotational piece Dontayvion Wicks. Golden's avenue to playing time appears murky at this time, considering most of his playing time came from the slot, where Reed would typically occupy. However, he possesses game-altering speed that will make it difficult to keep him off the field.--Alex Ciulla
