Matt McLain On Track To Return Tuesday
1 year agoCincinnati Reds manager David Bell said that rookie infielder Matt McLain (oblique) remains on track to return from the 10-day injured list next Tuesday for the final week of the regular season. McLain has started taking batting practice and is itching to return from a right-oblique strain that he suffered in late August. The Reds could really use the 24-year-old's bat back in their lineup for the stretch run as they attempt to get into the postseason as the final wild-card team in the National League. Before getting hurt, the youngster had been valuable in all fantasy formats with a .290/.357/.507 slash line with an .864 OPS, 16 home runs, 23 doubles, four triples, 50 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 65 runs scored in his first 89 major-league games.
