Matt Chapman Returns From Toe Injury
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman (toe) is starting at third base and is batting fifth in the lineup on Wednesday against right-hander Ronel Blanco and the Houston Astros. Chapman had in infected and ingrown toenail removed on Monday and sat out of Tuesday's contest, but he'll be back on Wednesday for fantasy managers. The 30-year-old is having a very fine season in his second year in Toronto in 2023, as he's currently slashing .281/.362/.487 with an .849 OPS, a league-leading 22 doubles, eight home runs, 30 RBI and 32 runs scored in 60 games played. He's not off to a great start in five games in June, going 3-for-16 (.188) with a homer and two RBI, but Chapman deserves to be in starting lineups on a regular basis.
