New York Islanders center Mathew Barzal picked up a goal and an assist as his team cruised to a 5-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday. The 22-year-old led all Islander forwards with 18:55 of time on ice and also registered a plus-two rating, two shots and three blocks in the game. With the productive night, Barzal has now registered at least one point in seven of his past eight contests (10 points over that span) and is proving that his trying sophomore NHL season is a thing of the past. Having fully adapted to head coach Barry Trotz's demanding defensive system, the British Columbia native is still flourishing in the offensive zone. Through 12 games in 2019-2020, Barzal now has 11 points (six goals, five assists), a plus-nine rating and 31 shots on goal. Make sure he's active in fantasy lineups ahead of his next game versus the Sabres on Saturday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
