Masyn Winn Dealing With Glute Strain
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals top prospect Masyn Winn (glute) left Sunday's game with Triple-A Memphis after the sixth inning with what president of baseball operations John Mozeliak described as a "mild glute strain." The 21-year-old was hurt after stepping on first base awkwardly, and he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout before being replaced at shortstop. For the season, Winn has hit .284 with an .822 OPS, 17 hope runs, 15 doubles, six triples and 59 RBI at Memphis. He's also 17-for-19 on stolen base attempts. Given how dominant Winn has been this year on the farm, there's a very good chance he'll get called up to the big leagues for the final month of the regular season in September.
