Masataka Yoshida Not In Monday's Lineup
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida is not in the team's starting lineup on Monday against the Seattle Mariners. Amidst a slump at the plate, the Japanese slugger will get a day off to begin the week. The 29-year-old has acquitted himself well so far in his first MLB season with Boston, as he's hitting .298 (39-for-131) with seven doubles, six home runs, 24 RBI, two stolen bases and 23 runs scored in his first 34 games. However, he's gone 3-for-19 (.158) with a double and four strikeouts in the last five games, so hopefully a day of rest will get him going again. Fantasy managers will need to remove him from their lineups to kick off the week. Raimel Tapia is starting in left field on Monday and is hitting sixth against Mariners right-hander George Kirby.
