Marquez Valdes-Scantling 2019 Player Outlook: To Be Given More Opportunity This Season
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has a great opportunity this season to be fantasy relevant- as long as he gets the opportunity expected. Valdes-Scantling was part of the Green Bay offense that stalled last season, but he was able to show flashes of excellence last season. Ultimately he finished the season with 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games. However, the vast majority of that production came in the span of Weeks 5 to 8. During that stretch, he was caught 15 receptions for 317 yards, as well as the touchdowns he scored on the season. This season, there is an expectation that the offense will take a step forward and Aaron Rodgers will be looking for a second option to target, opposite elite receiver Davante Adams. Randall Cobb has left a number of targets after he left at the start of the season, if Valdes-Scantling can continue to impress and be given increased opportunity he could be a steal in the mid-rounds of fantasy drafts.
