Marlon Mack Cut By 49ers
2 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers released running back Marlon Mack on Tuesday and signed defensive tackle T.Y. McGill to their practice squad in a corresponding move. Mack began the year with the Houston Texans but landed with San Francisco after being waived. He was active in just two games for the Niners but only played five special teams snaps before being released on Tuesday. There's a chance that he could return to the team on the practice squad if he doesn't attract any interest on the open market. Jeff Wilson Jr. remains the team's lead back, with Jordan Mason backing him up. Rookie Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle) could return to practice this week and could join the backfield mix as soon as Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons.
