Chicago Cubs outfielder Mark Zagunis appears to be the team's final bench player heading into Opening Day on Thursday. He went 2-for-3 with two walks in spring action on Sunday to list his Cactus League average to .357. "He's healthy," president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said, "and he's combining his really outstanding plate discipline with the ability to drive the ball to all fields when he gets his pitch." The 26-year-old has hit .105 with two RBI and two stolen bases in only 19 at-bats in the majors the last two seasons.
