11 months agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Marco Estrada was touched up for six earned runs, nine hits and a walk with three strikeouts over four innings in a road loss on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles. He managed to throw 67 of his 96 pitches for strikes and also uncorked a wild pitch while serving up a pair of home runs. The offense nearly got the Mexican right-hander off the hook late in the game, but they couldn't get over the hump. Oakland is now 0-3 in Estrada's three starts this season. After an ugly 7-14 season with a 5.64 ERA in Toronto last season, he hasn't shown any signs of being much better in his first few starts with Oakland. Treat him only as a back-end rotation option in AL-only fantasy formats. Next up is a starting assignment in Texas on Saturday night.--Daniel E. Dobish - RotoBaller
