Manuel Margot May Not Return Until August
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot (hamstring) suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain while legging out an infield single in the ninth inning on July 5 against the Cleveland Indians. When he underwent an MRI exam on July 7, the training staff informed him he would likely miss two to three weeks. Manager Kevin Cash said the earliest Margot could return is the Rays series in Cleveland from July 22-25, but it's "realistically probably after that." So don't expect Margot to return until later this month, at the earliest. The 26-year-old was hitting .252/.297/.404 with nine home runs, 44 RBI and nine stolen bases at the time of his injury in 270 at-bats. Infield/outfield prospect Vidal Brujan could stick around longer as a result, and he should be owned in the majority of formats now because of his elite speed.
