Manny Machado Serving As Designated Hitter Against Twins
2 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is serving as the designated hitter and is batting third in the lineup on Thursday against right-hander Bailey Ober and the Minnesota Twins. With Machado at DH, Ha-Seong Kim will play third base and bat seventh, while Rougned Odor starts at second base and hits eighth. Machado needs to remain in all starting fantasy lineups for the second game of the series on the road against the Twins. The 30-year-old All-Star is hitting just .250 (35-for-140) on the year with six doubles, five home runs, 18 RBI, two stolen bases and 17 runs scored in 152 plate appearances and 35 games. He's been heating up so far in May, though, going 9-for-30 (.300) with a double, home run and seven RBI in seven games.
