Manny Machado Goes Deep Twice In Win Over Dodgers
1 year agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado put on a show offensively in the team's 11-8 win over the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored and two strikeouts. Although it's mostly been a down year for Machado and the Padres, he is now up to 28 home runs, 84 RBI and 72 runs scored in 128 games and 555 plate appearances despite a disappointing .252 (126-for-500) batting average. The six-time All-Star is also heating up in the final month of the regular season, going 12-for-38 (.316) with three home runs, a double, six RBI and eight runs scored in nine starts since the calendar flipped to September. The 31-year-old remains a must-start in all fantasy lineups.
