Maliek Collins Reaches Agreement With Texans
4 years agoFormer Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Maliek Collins reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Houston Texans on Monday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The 310-pound defensive tackle was a third-round pick by the Cowboys out of Nebraska back in 2016 and spent the first four seasons of his career in Dallas. Collins spent the 2020 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, recording 15 combined tackles (eight solo), one QB hit and no sacks in 12 games (11 starts). If he can stay healthy, the 25-year-old should be a starter on Houston's defensive line and should help replace J.J. Watt, who was released and signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Collins has 14.5 career sacks in 73 games over five NFL seasons.
