Mackenzie Hughes is a Risky Option at the Wyndham

While a 15th-place finish at the U.S. Open and a sixth-place finish at the Open are extremely impressive results, I still have my concerns about Mackenzie Hughes. Over his last 36 rounds, the Canadian ranks nearly dead last in the field in the field in that key proximity distance of 150-175 yards. Hughes also ranks 130th in strokes gained off the tee, 117th in strokes gained approach, and outside the top-90 in opportunities gained and birdies or better gained. The former RSM Classic winner is an excellent putter, but that is just about all that he is good at right now. Mackenzie Hughes can certainly compete at Sedgefield if he gains over four strokes putting, but I would rather roster more reliable ball-strikers.
