Mac Jones Not Impressed With Pro Day Performance
4 years agoAlabama quarterback Mac Jones wasn't overly impressed with his throwing session during his school's Pro Day on Tuesday. But according to his private quarterbacks coach Joe Dickinson, Jones' frustration had more to do with his competitive nature than his actual performance. "I thought he did good. I've seen him throw better, but he doesn't want to miss one -- he's a competitive guy," Dickinson said. Jones jumped 32 inches in his vertical and had a 4.85-second 40-yard dash, according to a scouting source. NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah said he "thought it was a solid workout." While Trevor Lawrence and Trey Lance are considered better overall athletes with more upside, Jones is just a tier behind them. Jones had a fantastic year and led Alabama to a championship with 44 touchdowns and just four interceptions. The 22-year-old has a chance to go in the first round of next month's draft.
