Luke Weaver To Throw Bullpen Session Tuesday
Luke Weaver (shoulder) will throw a 60-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday. Weaver is making his way back from a right rotator cuff strain that landed him on the injured list in mid-May. The right-hander is making progress and could face live hitters soon, but he still has a ways to go and will likely require a lengthy minor league rehab assignment to build back up to a starter's workload. That means that Weaver isn't guaranteed to return to the Snakes starting rotation before September. The 27-year-old was 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 38/13 K/BB in 40 innings over eight starts for Arizona before getting injured. Fantasy managers in deep mixed leagues can afford to take a wait-and-see approach with him when he returns to the major leagues.
