Luke List to Make First U.S. Open Appearance Since 2007
7 years agoMany people often confuse Luke List for being younger than he is. It may have something to do with his baby face, but it also has a lot to do with his sudden arrival on the golf scene in the last year. At 33 years old, List is not some up-and-coming young prodigy, he is actually a grizzled vet of the game who just so happened to find his form later in life. List's surge in the Official World Golf Rankings from October of 2016 -- where he was ranked 320th in the world -- to his current rank of 54th is a remarkable turnaround at this point of his career. List has missed all three of his previous U.S. Open cuts, but because they happened so long ago, it isn't fair to judge him based off of those results. He has the length to compete at Shinnecock Hills, and if he can get over any nerves he will undoubtedly be feeling, he has an outside shot at a top-20 finish and maybe even more.
