Luis Urias Expected To Miss 6-8 Weeks
5 years agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Luis Urias (leg) underwent surgery to fix a fractured left hamate bone and is expected to miss six to eight weeks. The Brewers acquired Urias from the Padres in the deal that sent Trent Grisham to San Diego, and Milwaukee had plans for Urias to take the shortstop duties from Orlando Arcia in 2020. That could definitely change now, at least to start the season, and it obviously hurts Urias' fantasy value with his new club. The 22-year-old dominated in the minors with the Padres but has disappointed in his 263 at-bats in the big leagues the last two years, hitting .221/.318/.331 with six homers and 29 RBI. Urias could still become the team's starting shortstop when he's healthy, but this should give fantasy owners more pause if they were expecting 2020 to be his breakout.
