4 years agoSan Diego Padres catcher Luis Campusano has reported to spring camp following his October arrest for marijuana possession. Manager Jayce Tingler said he doesn't expect legal issues to affect Campusano's status. The 22-year-old is the team's No. 3 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and will be in a tight battle for what will likely be the last available spot on the Padres bench to open the 2021 season. Campusano made his major league debut in 2020 but received just four plate appearances. He's likely to be back up at some point this year, even if he doesn't make the active roster out of spring training, but Campusano is mostly a dynasty/keeper target in 2021. He could use some more seasoning defensively, as his glove/arm lag behind his bat, but he should eventually become the team's regular backstop.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
