4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder/middle infielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (side) left the team's intrasquad game on Friday after his first at-bat of the game when he felt discomfort on his left side. Gurriel will be re-examined on Saturday. The 26-year-old arrived late to camp earlier this week due to undisclosed reasons, too, so there's a chance he might not be ready for Opening Day next Friday. A midseason demotion to the minors lit a fire under Gurriel in 2019, and he was mashing the baseball upon his return. He has the skills to hit for both power and average in a great hitting environment in a young lineup with loads of potential all around. Gurriel's late start could cause him to start slow, but there's clear upside here for this top-50 fantasy outfielder.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
