Logan Gilbert Collects First Win
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert was credited with his first win Sunday after throwing five innings of one-run ball against the Angels. Gilbert allowed just two hits and four walks while striking out seven. After two tough outings to start his major league career, Gilbert has now strung together three solid starts. He'll want to limit the free passes, but he has a career walk rate of 1.62 per nine innings, so that shouldn't be a concern. Gilbert now has a 4.98 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings. He's a solid play in redraft leagues going forward, and a gem in dynasty and keeper formats.
