Lions Place Matthew Stafford On COVID-19 List
4 years agoThe Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have placed quarterback Matthew Stafford on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Since it's unknown yet as to whether Stafford actually tested positive for COVID-19, there's a chance that he could still suit up for Week 9 against the Vikings if he's just being quarantined. However, fantasy managers should be making plans to be without him this weekend. Backup Chase Daniel figures to get the start under center if Stafford isn't cleared in time. He'd be a low-end QB2 streamer in superflex leagues against a Vikings Defense that's allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to signal-callers. But keep in mind that the Lions are also expected to be without top receiver Kenny Golladay (hip) after he was injured in Week 8.
