Lions Claim John Cominsky Off Waivers
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions claimed defensive lineman John Cominsky off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, according to a league source. Cominsky was expected to have an expanded role in his fourth NFL season in 2022, but the Falcons decided to cut him last week instead. The 26-year-old could find playing time tougher to come by in Detroit after they just took pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson second overall in the draft. Cominsky is expected to compete with Levi Onwuzurike and John Penisini, among others, in Detroit. In his three seasons with Atlanta, Cominsky racked up 41 tackles (19 solo), four tackles for loss, five QB hits, 1.5 sacks and two passes defensed in 27 games (one start).
