Le'Veon Bell Could Be Active In Week 1
3 years agoWith Baltimore Ravens starting running back Gus Edwards (knee) suffering a torn ACL in practice on Thursday, head coach John Harbaugh said that Le'Veon Bell has "a chance" to be active for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night. The Ravens have now lost Edwards, J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hill to season-ending injuries, leaving Ty'Son Williams as their primary running back. The team also signed veteran Devonta Freeman on Thursday. The Ravens also have Trenton Cannon behind Williams, so Bell would merely have some sort of complementary role and likely wouldn't see the field all that much if he is active on Monday. Bell, a two-time first-team All-Pro, hasn't been the same since his holdout with the Steelers in 2018 and isn't a must-add off the waiver wire unless you're desperate for running back depth.
