Leonard Fournette 2020 Outlook: Poised For A Down 2020
5 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette has been a top-10 fantasy running back in two out of his three seasons thus far. Heading into the 2020 season, it's unlikely that we're going to see that become a third top-10 finish. After an extremely late release by his former team the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was able to catch on with the Bucs in the final week before cuts. Despite the talent he's displayed, head coach Bruce Arians' stated incumbent Ronald Jones II will remain the starter. Although Fournette is the more talented back, it's unclear what his role in the offense will be for the first month of the season while he gets his feet under him. He might have a lot of mid-to-late season value, and he surely wasn't signed to sit around on the bench, but he's not going to be the workhorse you were hoping for in the early going. Even though there are more mouths to feed on Tampa Bay's offense, there's no doubt that Fournette is still an upside RB given the team and offense he has been added to, playing with Tom Brady and under Bruce Arians.
