New England Patriots defensive tackle Lawrence Guy was not present for Monday's start to minicamp, and his absence is related to his contract negotiations. Guy is set to enter his seventh year with the team after stops in Green Bay, Indianapolis, San Diego, and Baltimore. The 33-year-old was named to the Patriots All-2010's team and has recorded 341 tackles and 10.5 sacks in six seasons with the team. Despite his consistency and good standing with New England, his salary of just over $2.8 million ranks outside the top-50 players at the position.
