Lance McCullers Jr. To Throw Batting Practice Saturday
4 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (elbow), who missed all of 2019 after having Tommy John surgery, will throw batting practice on Saturday. McCullers will simulate three innings, which is something similar to what he did a few days ago. He made three Grapefruit League starts before spring training was suspended and hopes to get his pitch count to 80 or 90 by the end of summer camp and be ready for the start of the season. "I’m in a very good place, mentally and physically," McCullers said. "I feel excellent." The right-hander was 10-6 with a 3.86 ERA in 2018 and has profit potential as a fringe top-50 fantasy starter in the shortened season. He could be flying under the radar in your league because of the fact he missed all of last season.
