Texas Rangers starting pitcher Lance Lynn will make the first start after the All-Star break Thursday night when the Houston Astros visit Globe Life Park. Lynn was one of the breakout pitchers of the first half with 11 wins, a 3.91 ERA, and 123 strikeouts in 115 innings pitched. Lynn's peripheral stats back up the success as his FIP of 2.98 is almost a full run lower than his ERA. His strikeout rate of 25.7 percent is the highest it's been since he was a rookie in 2011 and his 11.2 swinging strike rate is also a career high.
