Kyle Wright To Make A Rehab Start Wednesday
1 year agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Kyle Wright's (shoulder) minor-league rehab assignment has been moved from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett, and he will make a start for Gwinnett on Wednesday. In his first rehab start for Rome last Thursday, Wright looked good and tossed three scoreless frames while striking out four. It was the 27-year-old's first outing since May 3, and he's getting closer to being an option for the Braves' starting rotation down the stretch. Because of the long layoff, he'll likely need a few more outings on the farm before he's reinstated from the 60-day injured list. Wright had a 5.79 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in five starts before his injury this year, but he also had a career-best 3.19 ERA and a league-high 21 wins for Atlanta in 2022.
