Kyle Schwarber Dealing With Foot Contusion
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that outfielder Kyle Schwarber (foot) is dealing with a foot contusion after being removed from Friday's game early against the Minnesota Twins when he fouled a ball off his foot. Schwarber is sore and will be re-evaluated on Saturday morning. It sounds like a day-to-day situation, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect Schwarber to be right back in the lineup on Saturday. The 30-year-old left-handed slugger did some damage before leaving, going 2-for-2 with an RBI, two runs scored and two walks to raise his season average to .186 in the eventual 13-2 blowout win. Schwarber strikes out a lot but also has elite power from the left side, slugging 30 homers and driving in 73 on the year.
