Kyle Rudolph To Have Surgery
4 years agoNew York Giants tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot) will undergo surgery on his foot. His medical issue raised a red flag during his physical with the team, but he has officially signed his new contract. The surgery isn't considered serious, as Rudolph is expected to be ready for Week 1. The two-time Pro Bowler's production tailed off last season with the Vikings, as teammate Irv Smith Jr. leapfrogged him on the depth chart halfway through the season. Rudolph can still be an effective red-zone target with his new squad, but Evan Engram is likely to remain as the primary pass-catching tight end option for quarterback Daniel Jones. Because of Engram's presence, the 31-year-old Rudolph likely won't have a very high ceiling and will be more of a touchdown-dependent TE2.
