Kyle Lewis Resumes Throwing

Seattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis (knee) has resumed throwing but hasn't yet resumed swinging. He underwent surgery in June to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. According to manager Scott Servais, the 26-year-old is expected to be cleared at some point during the season. He slashed .246/.333/.392 with five home runs, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored, and two stolen bases across 147 plate appearances in 2021. Fantasy managers with IL spots should continue to stash Lewis, but the Mariners outfielder remains without a timetable for a return. Top prospect Jarred Kelenic was recently called up and is expected to handle center field duties while Lewis is sidelined. Kelenic has a tremendous amount of upside and should be rostered in all league formats.
